Dry cleaning is a swizz. I'd rather spend a tenner on a fancy gin and tonic in a chi chi bar instead of getting a silk blouse 'cleaned' (the idea of chemicals irks me). I may be a cheap skate, but I'm not a grubby one, so instead of forking out every time I need to wash something posh, I go retro and do my laundering in the sink. My secret weapon is Tocca Laundry Delicate in Florence. It's an ultra gentle handwash liquid that refreshes my cashmere, silk camisoles and lacy lingerie and leaves them all scented with Orris rose. Oh and it's cheaper than that 6pm cocktail!
